It maybe that state funding is the best solution of a number of bad ones!David Boylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11410159311875228620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169740113013066976.post-77513325032006814262015-07-16T16:27:42.222+01:002015-07-16T16:27:42.222+01:00The problem is that the Lib Dem solution seems to ...The problem is that the Lib Dem solution seems to be state funding of political parties — which has exactly the same problem writ large, in that at least (as someone who rarely shops at the Co-op and isn't a member of a union) none of my money goes to a party I don't support, but if there was state funding then as a taxpayer I would be being forced to fund parties I disagree with. I suspect that it will be certain that when (if) a Labour government is returned, there will be a revenge attack on the corruption of Tory funding; rightly so. However, less certain, but nevertheless something to be hoped for, is that Labour and the Unions get their respective semi-detached houses in order and become efficient in securing firm votes for political funding and for industrial action. The paradox for the Government is that should this happen industrial action may become harder to defeat and life will be more difficult for employers as the consequence.Richard Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17225331967587897653noreply@blogger.com
